Life at the Beverly Laurel
Life at the Beverly LaurelOur story
In 1967, the Adler family gathered at the intersection of Beverly Blvd and Laurel Ave. In their Sunday best, they prepared to cut the ribbon on the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel, a dream they’d worked hard to bring to life. Decades later, the motor hotel turned preserved mid-century treasure continues to thrive under the California sun—along with matriarch Pauline Adler’s original rubber plant vine, which grows wreathed around the pool courtyard.
Bernie and Mel, sons of the hotel’s original owners, oversee all decisions and operations. Their vision remains strong, as does their team of seasoned staff members, many of which have been here for over 30 years. Enjoy the presence of Angelenos that truly feel like family, and learn why so many of them—and so many of the city’s local and international visitors—have grown to call the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel their second home.
The Pool
When you stand at the front door of the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel and gaze through the lobby’s glass facade, your eye lands on an aquamarine glow at the very end of the entryway. Step inside and find the original 1967 pool, lined in striped mosaic tiles and flourishing laurel trees. When you lounge poolside, you have the opportunity to connect with the hotel’s storied past. Can you imagine the conversations that happened around this one bright blue rectangle?
